Evaluating ESG Leaders for a Global Media Publishing House
Objective of the Study
Our task was to identify and rank top publicly listed companies in India upholding the highest standards of social responsibility – counting practices related to human rights, responsible citizenship, safety standards, and employee engagement and benefits.
NeoImpact’s Approach
We designed a comprehensive approach to meet client requirements:
- NeoImpact developed a detailed social standards framework with over 40 parameters, incorporating a systematic scoring system covering the fundamental social data as well as potential controversies
- We conducted an in-depth secondary research, drawing data from various sources such as company publications, social media content, among others, to assess and rate the social responsibility of companies
- We created an interactive dashboard comprising various factors like a detailed analysis of the company performance, benchmarking them against peers, and highlighting improvement areas
Methodology
We specified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in alignment with global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting frameworks and used a weighted average-based performance ranking to develop the scoring model. To ensure high data quality, we employed a two-tier quality assurance process, for both data and analysis. Additionally, we utilized advanced technology to power the dashboard, offering interactive visuals and graphics for an enriched user experience.
Outcome
- NeoImpact’s consulting team presented a well-rounded ranking of 100 companies from diverse industries, evaluated across multiple social responsibility metrics
- Our work provided the client with actionable insights, enabling them to identify and reward leading companies for their social performance
